New entrants to the Retail electricity market and to new market segments are welcome.

RMDS is the contact point for the Assurance Process for new retail market entrants and for existing Market Participants wanting to requalify in a new market segment. RMDS in conjunction with MRSO also co-ordinate the non-assurance steps of the market entry process.

Types of Supplier:

  • Large Supplier
  • Small Supplier
  • Self-Supplier
  • Export Only Supplier
  • DSU

 

RMDS provides a support service to new entrants to guide them through the steps of entry into the market and new segments.

New entrants may choose to be assured and approved to operate in one, or more, market segments. Further assurance and approval are required to operate in other Market segments.

Market Segments:

  • Interval Metered (QH)
  • Non-Interval Metered – Non-Domestic NIM
  • Interval Metered – Domestic IM
  • Pre-Payment
  • Unmetered

 

RMDS is responsible for the high-level co-ordination of the required interactions between market participants and the assurance body necessary to support the execution of the market assurance process. RMDS co-ordinates testing between the participants systems and the central market systems where required.
