The current NI Retail Market Procedures allow for the reserved word “vacant” to be used in the Customer Name field on the Change to Customer Details Market Message 013. This uses a field within the 013 market message which should be strictly used for Customer Name.

This Discussion Request proposes the introduction of a new field on the Change to Customer Details Market Message 013. This new field will be used to allow Suppliers to indicate to NIE when they consider a site to be “Long-Term Vacant”.

It is viewed that a specific field on the 013 market message should be introduced to provide a more definite approach to this requirement and a much clearer solution.
