This Discussion Request proposes to remove the rule for NI which allows readings which have been provided by a Supplier, after a period of more than 12 months since previous readings, to be regarded as valid unless they are lower than the previous readings. This rule was introduced in the interim solution in NI as the result of change request CRID 114 which was raised due to concern that there was a very high probability that readings obtained after 12 months would fail normal reading validation and therefore would not be used to update EAC/AACs for Settlement or DUoS billing. During the Harmonisation Project and Requirements Review NIE has investigated the arrangements that apply for a similar readings scenario in RoI and now proposes to adopt the RoI process.
