Currently in NI the Supplier agrees the Meter Configuration Code (MCC) with the customer and must provide it on the New Connection Registration Request (010). The registration request will be rejected if the code is not present or is not consistent with the MIC. This Discussion Request proposes that the customer agrees the MCC with NIE as part of their application for a new connection and that the agreed MCC is displayed on the Market website – this agreed MCC will be the MCC used by NIE for validating a New Connection Registration. It will no longer be mandatory for a Supplier to provide the MCC on the 010 New Connection Registration request.
This proposal will further harmonise the 010 market message population and validation for a New Connection Registration and the Meter Point Data displayed on the Market website for a new connection. As the MCC is agreed by the customer with NIE at the new connection application stage it will no longer be mandatory for a Supplier to provide a MCC on the 010 New Connection Registration market message thus eliminating 010 New Connection Registration rejections because a MCC is not present or where populated is not consistent with the MIC.
