In a Change of Supplier request, it is possible that a difference in spelling of the customer name e.g. due to a typing error or a rebranding by the customer can cause a Change of Legal Entity to be inferred where none has occurred. The processing in these cases is more complex and may lead to delays – especially if the MIC of the site is 100 kVA or over and a connection agreement is issued and its return awaited.
The Registered Company Number was originally included in the market data model for this purpose. To prevent the occurrence of erroneous inferring of Change of Legal Entity it is proposed to add validation surrounding Registered Company Number to the following Market Messages for sites over 100 kVA:
